About Krista
Krista Mirhoseini has a passion for the intersections of art, tech, and law, and safeguarding the creative endeavors of businesses and individuals alike. She advises and provides day-to-day and strategic guidance to entities and individuals engaged in creative work, including tech companies, start-ups, artists, studios, galleries, and more. In a quickly-evolving legal landscape in the age of artificial intelligence, she finds great satisfaction helping ensure the integrity and value of her clients' intellectual property and business assets.
After years of both in-house legal and law firm experience, Krista has launched her own practice to advise creators with a myriad of legal needs.
Krista's multi-faceted legal career gives her a unique perspective in advising her creator clients. She began her career as a business and employment attorney and litigator, developing an appreciation for needing to understand her clients' industry, business goals, and values in order to best advocate for them. She then spent several years serving as the primary legal advisor for Chihuly Studio, a renowned Seattle-based glass art studio engaged in art projects around the world. She subsequently joined the legal team of Expedia, Inc., a global tech company and travel platform, representing its many brands (including Vrbo and Hotels.com) and leading its intellectual property legal work in commercial contract negotiations, brand marketing campaigns, sports sponsorships, licensing, product development, policies, and resolving intellectual property disputes. Krista is a certified privacy professional (CIPP/US). She is a member of the Copyright Society of the USA, and currently serves as co-chair of the Northwest Chapter. She was an adjunct law professor at the Seattle University School of Law, teaching art law, and has presented on panels covering art law topics. She is licensed to practice in Washington state.
